Safeguarding is central to our Christian faith. We believe that every person is uniquely made in the image of God and that all are deserving of dignity, respect, and protection.
Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness” (John 10:10).
Safeguarding means the action we take to promote a safer culture within our church community. In accordance with the Church of England safeguarding policy, we are committed to:
-
Promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults
-
Preventing abuse from occurring
-
Protecting those who may be at risk
-
Responding promptly and sensitively to concerns or disclosures of abuse
-
Safely managing situations where someone may present a risk to others
We are committed to maintaining a safe environment for everyone. Following Christ’s example of welcoming and valuing children (Matthew 18:1–5), we seek to offer ministry that is safe, compassionate, and inclusive.
