ST AUGUSTINE'S
CHURCH
Otley Road, Bradford, BD3 ODR
Welcome!
St Augustine’s is a friendly and welcoming church serving the Otley Road and Undercliffe area of Bradford—though many of our congregation come from further afield. We are a community drawn from a wide range of backgrounds, united in worship and fellowship.
Our main Sunday service takes place every week at 10am. We usually celebrate Holy Communion and offer children’s groups, with an all-age Service of the Word on the third Sunday of each month.
Our Vicar, Revd. Rosy Fairhurst, is supported in ministry by Robin Gamble, and together they help lead our church community in faith, fellowship, and service.

Coffee Morning
Each week we host a Coffee Morning, which also serves as a Warm Space and a Place of Welcome, kindly funded by Bradford Council.
It runs every Tuesday from 10am to 12pm. You’ll find some of our regular churchgoers and key church members there, alongside members of our wonderful BD3 community.
Feel free to drop in for a warm drink, a slice of cake, and some good conversation plus it’s completely free!
Home Groups
St Augustine's currently hosts three of the four home groups operating across the benefice. Two meet fortnightly on Thursday evenings—one in the church and one in a church member’s home. The third meets on selected Tuesdays, also in a church member’s home.

FIND OUT MORE...
St Augustine's building was redeveloped in a creative and beautiful way over 30 years ago, led by our assisting minister Canon Robin Gamble, when the nave roof of the Victorian building of 1877 needed replacing. It is light and practical - great for conferences, events and parties, especially with its beautiful walled garden in the ruins of the chancel of the original church.
Twenty years ago, the church worked with the wider community to buy the former St Augustine's primary school building next door and found Community Works, led by Canon Denise Poole. This has grown into a substantial project.
We still maintain a strong church school link with Westminster CofE Primary Academy, where the original St Augustine’s school was re-sited. We also warmly welcome school visits from other schools across our parish, supporting learning about our church’s faith, history, and community life.
For more information or to contact a member or staff please ring the parish office on 01274 775885 or drop an email to office.heartandanchor@gmail.com. There is usually someone in the office Tuesday to Friday mornings in term time - and admin hours in school holidays will be posted.
Please contact Rosy, our Vicar via the office or on rosy.fairhurst@leeds.anglican.org if you are interested in knowing more about our church.
