Ephesians 1: 3-14

Blessed-be-the-God-and-Father-of-our-Lor

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every Spiritual Blessing in the heavenly places.

Just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love.

He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious name that he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he lavished on us.  With all wisdom and insight he has made known to us the mystery of his will, according to the good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, as a plan for the fullness of time, to gather up all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

In Christ we have also obtained an inheritance, having been destined according to the purpose of of him who accomplishes all things according to his councel and will, so that we, who were the first to set our hopes on Christ, might live for the praise of his glory.  In him you also, when you had heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and had believed in him, were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit; this is the pledge of our inheritance towards redemption as Gods own people, to the praise of his glory.

Luke 2: 41-end

Now every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the festival of the Passover.

And when he was twelve years old, they went up as usual for the festival.  When the festival was ended and they started to return, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it.  Assuming that he was in the group of travellers, they went for a day’s journey.

Then they started to look for him among their relatives and friends.  When they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem to search for him.  After Three days they found him in the Temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.  And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

When his parents saw him they were astonished; and his mother said to him, Child, why have you treated us like this?

Look, your father and I have been searching for you in great anxiety.  He said to them, Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Fathers house?  But they did not understand what he said to them.

Then he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them.

His mother treasured all these things in her heart.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and in years and in divine and human favour..
